- Tech started engine and no warning lights present. Performed road test, all okay. Scan computer code P2173 – Throttle actuator control system high air flow. – Tech check for vacuum leaks, none found. Tech noticed throttle body dirty and performed service and reset computer system. Performed another road test, all okay, Let engine sit for awhile and QC tech performed road test and lighting bolt in dash came on and engine started to hesitate. Re scan computer and found same trouble code P2173 appeared. Advised customer need to start with replacing throttle body assembly.
- Remove any obstruction to access throttle body. Clean the throttle body intake. Clean carbon from throttle body passages and plates. Replace any obstruction in reverse order. Test drive vehicle for proper operation.
- Tech had to rewire new connector with new throttle body installation.
